1. Agreement to Terms

By creating an account or using Highlyt (the web app, Chrome extension, or mobile app), you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. The Service

• Highlyt lets you upload PDFs, save web pages, save YouTube transcripts, create color-coded highlights, and export structured data for use with AI tools
• The service includes a web application, Chrome browser extension, and mobile app
• Highlyt is currently in beta. Features, limits, and pricing may change

3. Accounts and Access

• You must sign in with a Google account to use Highlyt
• Access during beta is granted at our discretion. We may revoke access at any time
• You are responsible for all activity under your account
• Document and storage limits are determined by your plan tier

4. Your Content

• You retain ownership of all documents, highlights, and annotations you create
• You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any content to Highlyt
• We do not claim ownership over your content. We only store and process it to provide the service
• You can delete your content at any time. Deleted content is permanently removed from our systems

5. Acceptable Use

• Do not upload malicious files, malware, or content that violates applicable laws
• Do not attempt to access other users' data or circumvent security measures
• Do not abuse API keys or MCP server access for automated scraping or bulk operations beyond normal usage
• Do not share your account credentials or beta access with others

6. Intellectual Property

The Highlyt name, logo, website design, and application code are our intellectual property. You may not copy, modify, or redistribute any part of the service without written permission.

7. Disclaimers

• The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that the service will be error-free
• We are not liable for any data loss. You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of important content

8. Termination

• You may stop using Highlyt and request account deletion at any time
• We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these terms
• On termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as new features become available. Significant changes will be communicated via the app or email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
